Pharma Care & Medication Support
Pharma care and medication support is an important part of planning medical treatment away from home. International patients may need to clarify prescriptions, understand which medicines to bring on their journey and plan how medicines will be managed during treatment and after discharge. MedProject Health can help coordinate medication-related questions with the relevant hospital or healthcare provider, depending on the patient’s needs and the services agreed.
Before Travelling to India
Prepare a current list of every medicine you take, including its name, strength, dose and reason for use. Include vitamins, supplements, known allergies and any previous reactions. Keep prescriptions and relevant medical records with your travel documents, and ask your treating clinician whether a medicine needs special storage or supporting documentation for travel.
Rules for carrying medicines can vary by country and by medicine, so confirm requirements with the relevant authorities before departure. Do not stop, start, substitute or change a prescribed medicine based on general online information. If you are unsure whether to continue a medicine before a procedure or during travel, ask the clinician responsible for your care.
Medication During Treatment and Recovery
During consultations or admission, ask the treating team to explain any new prescription, including its purpose, dose, timing, duration, possible side effects and what to do if a dose is missed. Before discharge, request written instructions and a copy of the prescription.
If you will continue care in your home country, ask for a treatment summary that you can share with your local doctor. Medicine availability, dispensing rules and prescription requirements can differ. Confirm the availability and lawful supply of any required medicine with the treating hospital or an authorised pharmacy.
MedProject does not replace a doctor or pharmacist. Prescribing decisions and clinical advice must come from qualified healthcare professionals.
